It's hard to believe this Summer is more than halfway over already. We've loved every minute of spending time together outside and going on some new adventures.
One accomplishment for Micah is starting big boy swim lessons! He did so well in June that he advanced to the next class for the July session. As with all new things, he was a little hesitant at first but quickly warmed up to his teachers, especially Miss Morgan. When his new class started in July, Micah was pretty bummed and had a rough class after he found out Miss Morgan wouldn't be teaching him. The next day, as soon as he walked in the pool area, he spotted Miss Morgan teaching his class. Wish I would've got his happy little laugh after he saw her. Pretty sure this is his first crush!
We were so excited to see Alexa and the kiddos in June for a little evening together. And we had to capture all these cute cousins!
The Lawsons cheering on the Rockies at one of their few wins this year.
We've had some pretty crazy weather here in Colorado this Summer. In June alone we spent a few afternoons in the basement, waiting out the tornado warnings. One tornado was just a mile and half east of our home. Thank you Lord, for keeping us all safe. This picture of our backyard and neighbor's house was taken 5 minutes before our severe hail storm totaled our roof.
One night after we had some dinner guests over, we received a massive hail storm. The hail was ping pong ball sized and for the second year in a row, we will be getting a new roof. Hooray for home ownership :(
Micah also got to attend VBS for the first time at the end of June. He came home exhausted every afternoon (and then didn't nap!). By the end of the week, he made some new friends and learned quite a bit - Jesus' love helps us stand strong!!
A few weekends ago, we ventured down to Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods. How beautiful is the Lord's creation and we loved our time seeing it! The last time Tim and I went to Garden of the Gods was 8 years ago when we went with Tim's Mom, Sandy. We miss her dearly and so wish she could meet her precious Grandson, soon-to-be Grandsons. We do have hope that one day they will finally meet in Jesus' presence.
Our first 4th in Colorado. This year we got to celebrate the 4th by attending our community parade and little festival. Micah LOVED his first pony ride... pretty much a dream come true for this little cowboy.
We also celebrated a little with Grandma and Grandpa Ahlman and Josiah. This was the first time Micah got to see any type of firework. His wide eyes say it all!
The night was topped off by watching (from the comfort of Micah's bedroom right before bedtime) some of our neighbors light fireworks in our cul-de-sac. To say the least, they were not the legal kind here in Colorado but we had a great time watching them!
I've also kept myself quite busy nesting and Tim has graciously accepted every challenge I've thrown his way on his honey-do list. You're the best, honey!
