February 2015

What a crazy February we had this year. Shiloh is growing SO fast and the boys bond grows daily. What fun they are already having together and what a joy it is to witness their bond.
Shiloh's first experience with the sip cup - of course big brother had to help.
Even at six months Shiloh wants to be a part of all the action with Micah. In his little mind, everything Micah does is golden.

 So much love!!

As was the case with Micah, this little lamb had a rough Ash Wednesday too! Good thing the cross of Jesus covers them!
Look who's FOUR!!! Micah James!!! What a gift you are to your Daddy and I, sweet Micah. You are a special little boy with a huge heart. You're bright, tender, playful and a ray of sunshine to all that know you. You are the best son and big brother anyone could ask for. It has been a privilege to watch you grow into who the Lord is creating you to be.

Baby Hulk is ready to go!! As our good friend said, "he has the strength, now he just needs the know-how."

Shiloh wearing the sweater knit by Grandma Ahlman. A little snug but super cute.
We're all ready for breakfast!

Half way to a year! Shiloh's favorites include: any foods that are sweet, splashing water in the bath, laughing with brother, rocking on all fours. Dislikes: non sweet veggies, nasal aspirators, saline.

And so began the downward spiral of sickness for the Lawsons. On Sunday, February 22nd Shiloh woke up with a nasty cough. Over the course of six days, Shiloh's breathing became more and more strenuous and he ended up needing hospital care for a few days suffering with RSV. Half of his time there was spent in the PICU at Children's and the rest in the general hospital. The care he received there was incredible. He was even sweet enough to share his sickness with Micah. What a stressful and scary time with both of our littles being so sick. Thankfully both boys recovered quite quickly.

With caring for the boys through the nights, I was spent. Grandma Ahlman and Aunt Faithy came to help and snuggle Shiloh while I tried to catch up on some rest. For a few days, Shiloh was really not himself at all and it was almost impossible to even get a grin from him. I'll never forget when Aunt Faithy showed up in the hospital room, Shiloh lit up like a Christmas tree and lunged at her with both arms out, waving her in with his little hands. Adorable.

Our little family was pretty sad to be separated. With the visiting restrictions, Micah and Shiloh did not see each other for two whole days. Boy did we all miss each other!

I really hate those breathing treatments and all these people messing with me. By the end of his time at the hospital, he is pretty territorial and would fuss when any nurse/doctor would come near him. Poor baby!
